Hello, LWL!
Omg, it’s here. It’s spring. We made it! We did it! And I’m so happy to announce that we’ll be reconvening at The Hoxton, Chicago, for our April discussion of Deep Cuts by Holly Brickley. We haven’t hung out at The Apartment together since November, and I miss what I am henceforth lovingly referring to as our clubhouse.
I love following along with what y’all are reading on Instagram and Goodreads, and I’ve seen a few early but glowing reviews amongst our community for this buzzy debut novel. I was hooked from the first electric encounter between Percy Marks, an English major at UC Berkeley with a fervent passion for music, and Joe Morrow, a budding songwriter. This initial chance meeting in a campus bar over a Hall and Oates song sparks a creative partnership that spans years, challenging their ambitions and personal boundaries. Coco Mellors blurbed it as a “timeless love story of creative collaboration, competition, and ambition.” SEXY. CHIC.
Our discussion will take place on Wednesday, April 16, from 7-9pm at The Hoxton, Hotel in The Apartment. This is a free event thanks to the hotel’s generous partnership with LWL for another year.
And, I can’t believe I’m even typing these words—but our April event and discussion will also be the FIRST TIME you can cop official LWL merch. I will share more soon! To our beloved founding Members, you’ll receive an email from me prior to 4/16 about your exclusive merch fulfillment details. I’m working on something very special for y’all.
This one’s pretty straightforward, friends! RSVP on Pie (event is free but RSVP is required), read Deep Cuts, pull up on 4/16 ready to yap and drink wine.
